1941 Bedford Army Lorry

Engine: 28 Horse Power 6 Cylinder In Line OHV

Gearbox: 4 Speed Manual

Originally used in the Home Counties travelling between London and Southampton during the Second World War.  This vehicle has made an appearance in Dads Army and is seen here sporting "Micky Mouse" pattern camouflage and a star on the bonnet to indicate to the Americans its friendly status.  Quite why the Americans could have mistaken this for an unfriendly vehicle travelling between London and Southampton is not clear.  Typical uses for this type of vehicle is the transportation of people, goods and ammunition.
